The Muncie Chapter area showed to be very fortunate in 2014. There was a steady flow of job opportunities and man hours through out the year. Many of the members are becoming more familiar with the new International H&W Fund that we are now part of, and we are seeing more members become eligible and remain eligible for longer periods of time. Along with the above mentioned, our defined contribution Pension Fund was able to receive a 9.1% gain in interest.
As we continue to move into 2015, we are off to a slow start due to the usual reasons such as scheduling and weather. There are going to be a couple of refractory jobs this spring that will help generate some jobs while we wait on the weather break. It does appear that by mid March, weather permitting, there will be several jobs getting started. These jobs will consist of The Arc of Indiana Hotel and Parking Garage in Muncie, Ball State will have some new construction and some restoration work, Westminster Village Addition, New IOEU Hall in Chesterfield, New Student Housing for IU East in Richmond, along with the continually evolving and developing Hamilton County.
Congratulations to the new elected Chapter Officers that will be serving a 3 year term:
Chapter Chairman- Patrick Rowles
Recording Secretary- Paul Folkner
Sergeant-at-Arms- Asa Oswalt
Negotiating Committee will be Tom Honn and Mike Anderson

At this present time a lot of attention is being placed on the current legislative body and there activities. There have been 3 bills filed in relation to the Common Construction Wage Law. They are as follows:
Senate Bill 198 is a repeal
House Bill 1019 is a repeal
House Bill 1052 is an amended version.
I encourage all of you to educate yourselves and others about this and contact your Representatives to let them know how you feel.
